Tate McRae has officially entered her new musical era with the release of her highly anticipated third studio album, So Close to What, out now via RCA Records. The album, which arrived on February 21, includes viral singles “It’s ok I’m ok”, “Sports Car”, and “2 Hands”, as well as two major collaborations—”Bloodonmyhands” featuring Flo Milli and the romantic duet “I Know Love” with The Kid Laroi.
Speaking about working with her boyfriend, The Kid Laroi, McRae shared during a recent Spotify listening party:
“It was a really funny process because me and Laroi have never really, like, taken each other seriously. You know when you’re in a relationship and you sing around each other, but you don’t really, like, sing? So it was a little stressful being in the studio singing and writing in front of him, but it was a cool experience to watch him in his process.”
Beyond the music, McRae is gearing up for an exciting world tour in support of So Close to What. The Miss Possessive Tour kicks off on March 18 in Mexico City and will take her across Europe, Canada, and North America, wrapping up in September 2025. Fans can also look forward to special guest performances from Zara Larsson and Benee throughout the tour.
With an album packed with introspective lyrics, infectious pop melodies, and raw emotion, So Close to What cements Tate McRae as one of the most exciting young artists in pop music today.
