Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Shatters Records as Longest-Charting Rap Song Ever
Kendrick Lamar is rewriting the history books once again. The Compton rap titan’s searing diss track “Not Like Us” has now officially become the longest-charting rap song in Billboard Hot 100 history, logging 53 consecutive weeks on the chart. Even more impressive, the track currently holds strong at No. 23, showcasing its continued dominance in the streaming and airplay arenas.
Originally released in May 2024 amid Lamar’s now-legendary lyrical feud with Drake, “Not Like Us” debuted at No. 1 and instantly captured the cultural zeitgeist. The track not only dismantled Drake with scathing lines, but also set the Spotify record for most single-day hip-hop streams, reaching 300 million streams faster than any rap song before it. Its impact was cemented at the 2025 GRAMMYs, where it swept major categories including Record and Song of the Year.
Kendrick isn’t slowing down. His chart-topping collaboration with SZA, “Luther,” has held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 weeks straight, making it the longest-running hip-hop No. 1 single in history. The track stands among only 15 songs to ever achieve this milestone.
Beyond the charts, Lamar is also smashing live performance records. His Grand National Tour with SZA recently became the highest-grossing concert by a Black artist, bringing in $11.8 million in one night at AT&T Stadium, surpassing The Weeknd’s previous record.
With Spilt Milk Festival performances scheduled for later this year, Kendrick Lamar continues to prove he’s not just a rapper—he’s a cultural force.
