Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red” Holds No. 1 on Billboard Global 200 for Third Week, Makes History on Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Chart.
In the latest Billboard chart update, Doja Cat’s hit track, “Paint the Town Red,” continues to dominate the music scene. The song enjoys its third consecutive week at the top of the Billboard Global 200 chart. Additionally, it achieves a remarkable milestone by claiming the number one spot on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, dated September 30. Notably, this marks the first time a rap song has led the latter chart in its four-year history.
Meanwhile, Drake’s fresh collaboration, “Slime You Out,” featuring the talented SZA, makes an impressive debut at No. 3 on the Global 200 chart. SZA’s “Snooze” also experiences a significant surge, climbing from 42nd place to the 6th spot following the release of its remix featuring Justin Bieber. The Global Excl. U.S. top 10 welcomes three new entries: Kenya Grace’s “Strangers” rises from 21st to 4th place, Tate McRae’s “Greedy” makes a debut at No. 9, and cassö, RAYE, and D-Block Europe’s “Prada” advances from 16th to 10th place.
The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, introduced in September 2020, provide a comprehensive view of song rankings based on streaming and sales data gathered from over 200 territories worldwide, compiled by Luminate. The Global 200 encompasses worldwide data, while the Global Excl. U.S. chart focuses on data from regions outside of the United States.
Chart rankings are determined by a weighted formula that considers official-only streams from both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, along with download sales. It’s worth noting that sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are not factored into the charts’ calculations.
Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red” secures its No. 1 position on the Billboard Global 200 for the third consecutive week. The track, which marked Doja Cat’s first chart-topping hit, garnered 89.8 million streams (a 1% increase) and 12,000 sold (a 5% increase) globally from September 15th to 21st.
Jung Kook’s “Seven,” featuring Latto, continues to hold the No. 2 spot on the Global 200 chart. This song had previously dominated the chart, spending its initial seven weeks at No. 1, starting in July.
