Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has been banned from Twitch just seven minutes into his first-ever stream. The controversial artist appeared on the platform on April 25, donning a black jacket and Prada sunglasses, before quickly launching into a tirade that included antisemitic slurs, attacks on the LGBT+ community, and a chilling Nazi salute while shouting “Heil Hitler.”
The livestream, reported by The Daily Beast, was swiftly taken down. Viewers attempting to access Ye’s Twitch page were met with a notice citing violations of the platform’s Community Guidelines. Remarkably, Ye had not even amassed 220 followers before being removed.
This explosive Twitch incident adds to a long list of controversies surrounding Ye. In recent months, he declared himself “a Nazi” on X (formerly Twitter), rescinded past apologies for antisemitic comments, and promoted a white T-shirt bearing a swastika symbol. Shopify later condemned the item as “vile and inexcusable” before taking down Ye’s online store.
In March, Ye posted a video with known white supremacist Nick Fuentes, flaunting a diamond-encrusted swastika necklace while introducing Fuentes as his “white supremacist homeboy.” Their association has drawn widespread condemnation since their infamous meeting with Donald Trump in 2022.
Despite sporadic claims of “reflection” and public attempts to walk back his statements, Ye continues to escalate his incendiary rhetoric. His Twitch ban underscores growing industry-wide intolerance toward hate speech, leaving many questioning where the once-celebrated artist’s increasingly erratic journey will lead next.
