Tori Amos officially enters a mythical yet modern battlefield with her latest single, “Stronger Together.” As the lead track from her upcoming 18th studio album, In Times of Dragons, the song features the ethereal backing vocals of her daughter, Tash. This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in the album’s sprawling narrative, where Amos blends dreamy pop textures with a fierce message of solidarity.
The Narrative of In Times of Dragons
Amos describes In Times of Dragons as a parable for the current political climate, specifically the fragility of democracy. The storyline follows a protagonist fleeing a “sadistic billionaire Lizard Demon husband.” During this escape to the American South, the character reunites with “The Daughter,” a figure who chooses to stand by her despite the looming threats.
“Stronger Together represents the culmination of our relationship,” Amos explains. The track serves as a vow between characters—and perhaps a meta-commentary on the bond between Amos and Tash—promising to face future challenges as a united front.
Sonic Direction and Artistic Evolution
Musically, the track leans into a “dreamy pop” aesthetic, allowing the vocal harmonies between mother and daughter to take center stage. This release follows a busy 2025 for Amos, which saw the debut of her children’s book Tori and the Muses and its companion album. Now, she shifts her focus back to the high-stakes allegories that defined her most iconic works.
Tour Dates and Release Schedule
Universal/Fontana will release In Times of Dragons on May 1st. To support the record, Amos kicks off a 35-city North American tour this July. The trek begins in Florida and concludes in Seattle this September, with major stops in Boston, Phoenix, and Dallas.
