Robyn just flipped the script on her own history. As we approach the March 27 release of her highly anticipated new album Sexistential, the Swedish pop icon has unearthed a gem from her past and polished it with a jagged, modern edge. The latest single, “Blow My Mind,” isn’t exactly a brand-new composition, but it feels entirely reborn.
Robyn’s New Album Sexistential Revisits 2002’s “Blow My Mind”
Longtime “Robynheads” will recognize the title from her 2002 record Don’t Stop the Music. However, the 2026 iteration trades the original’s polished pop for high-tempo electro-funk and a “very punk” energy. While the first version focused on romantic obsession, this remake serves as a visceral tribute to her three-year-old son.
Robyn describes the track as the only song on the album dedicated to her child, capturing the “cute aggression” and “messy sensations” of motherhood. “It’s not cute, because it’s not cute with children,” Robyn stated via social media. “They’re cute, but the experience isn’t.”

The Lyric video accompanies the track’s release, visually echoing the rawness Robyn describes. The updated lyrics—featuring lines like “your unbearably cute scrumptious little face” and “nails sharp as knives”—reflect the physical and emotional intensity of her new life since her 2018 masterpiece, Honey.
The Road to the March 27 Release
“Blow My Mind” marks the fourth single from the upcoming LP, following “Sexistential,” “Dopamine,” and “Talk To Me.” Released via the Young label, the project arrives eight years after her last full-length effort. This reimagined track proves that Robyn remains a master of evolution, finding new meaning in her old catalog to reflect her current reality.
