Terror in Beverly Hills: Suspect Pleads Not Guilty in Targeted Attack on Rihanna and A$AP Rocky

The woman accused of firing 20 rounds at Rihanna’s home has pleaded NOT GUILTY to attempted murder.

The music world was rocked this March when the sanctuary of one of its biggest icons was shattered by gunfire. Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, a 35-year-old speech pathologist from Orlando, Florida, appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom Wednesday to plead not guilty to a litany of felony charges, including the attempted murder of Robyn “Rihanna” Fenty and Rakim “A$AP Rocky” Mayers.

The details emerging from the DA’s office paint a picture of a calculated, chillingly deliberate strike. Prosecutors allege that Ortiz drove her white Tesla across the country specifically to target the “Umbrella” singer’s Beverly Crest estate. On March 8, at approximately 1:15 p.m., Ortiz allegedly unleashed a hail of 20 rounds from an AR-style semi-automatic rifle, striking the home’s walls, a gate, and an occupied RV on the property.

Rihanna Attempted Murder Case: A Family in the Crosshairs

What makes this case particularly harrowing is the scale of the alleged target list. Court documents reveal that the assault wasn’t just aimed at the pop superstar. The 10 counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm correspond to every soul present during the chaos—including A$AP Rocky, the couple’s three young children, and Rihanna’s mother, Monica Fenty. The prosecution, led by Alexander Bott, argued against a bail reduction (currently set at $1.875 million), citing evidence of premeditation. Police reportedly found a wig inside Ortiz’s vehicle—a suspected disguise—alongside the assault rifle and seven spent casings. This wasn’t a random act of violence; it was a mission.

The Digital Trail: Stalking in the Age of Social Media

The investigation has uncovered a disturbing digital breadcrumb trail. Ortiz’s social media activity allegedly reveals a fixated obsession with Rihanna. In one haunting post on X, she challenged the singer: “Are you there? … say something to me directly instead of sneaking around.” This incident follows a pattern of erratic behavior; Ortiz was previously arrested for domestic violence in 2023 and had recently attempted to legally block a Billie Eilish concert in Florida. As the legal battle moves toward an April 8 preliminary hearing, the music industry is left grappling with the increasingly dangerous reality of celebrity stalking and the vulnerability of even the most high-profile figures.
