Madonna Announces ‘Confessions II’ Release Date & New Single

Madonna Returns to the Dance Floor: Everything We Know About "Confessions II"

The Queen of Pop is officially reclaiming her throne. After months of cryptic Instagram wipes and lyrical teasers that sent the “Madonna-sphere” into a frenzy, Madonna has confirmed the news fans have prayed for: a direct sequel to her 2005 masterpiece is coming. Confessions II is set to drop on July 3 via Warner Records, marking a spiritual and sonic homecoming for the most successful female artist of all time.

By reuniting with legendary producer Stuart Price, Madonna isn’t just chasing nostalgia; she’s reviving the “ritualistic space” of the nightclub. Following the experimental fado-influences of Madame X and her record-breaking Celebration Tour, this 15th studio album promises to transform the dance floor into a place of healing and ego-dissolution.

Back to the Studio: The Stuart Price Connection

The magic of the original Confessions on a Dance Floor was birthed in Stuart Price’s London loft. For the sequel, the duo has returned to the “Stu” to recapture that seamless, non-stop mix energy. Madonna describes the new material as “medicine for the soul,” a necessary shift after her harrowing health scare in 2023.

The first taste of the album, a track titled “I Feel So Free,” features a deep house pulse and a nostalgic nod to her 1980s classic “Into The Groove.” In a spoken-word soliloquy over the track, Madonna muses on the power of anonymity: “Out here on the dance floor, I feel so free.”

The Manifesto of the Rave

In a profound press statement, Madonna outlined the philosophy behind Confessions II:

We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies. These are things that we’ve been doing for thousands of years β€” they really are spiritual practices. After all, the dance floor is a ritualistic space. It’s a place where you connect

β€” with your wounds, with your fragility. To rave is an art. It’s about pushing your limits and connecting to a community of like-minded people.

Sound, light, and vibration
Reshape our perceptions
Pulling us into a trance-like state.
The repetition of the bass, we don’t just hear it but we feel it.

Altering our consciousness and dissolving ego and time.
