Fred again.. and Thomas Bangalter Deliver Historic Set at Alexandra Palace

Fred again.. closed his USB002 tour with a massive surprise: Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter

Fred again.. just proved why he is the ultimate bridge-builder in modern electronic music. To close out his massive four-night USB002 tour residency at London’s Alexandra Palace, the producer invited a literal titan to the booth. Fred again.. and Thomas Bangalter shared the stage on Friday night, sending the crowd into a frenzy with a set that blended cutting-edge production with timeless French Touch anthems.

A Legendary Collaboration at the USB002 Tour Finale

The rumors began swirling earlier that day when Fred took to Instagram to share his disbelief. “There is only one way to end this tour of surreal whirlwind dream-casting,” he wrote, “and it is with this man, the greatest.” The duo reportedly spent the entire week in the studio preparing a unique, one-off performance specifically for the London audience.

This appearance marks a significant milestone for Bangalter. While the two artists performed a brief B2B set in Paris last October, that performance leaned away from the Daft Punk catalog. This time, however, the legendary producer leaned into the nostalgia, delivering a high-octane tribute to the hits that defined an era.

The Setlist: Daft Punk Classics Reimagined

The energy inside Alexandra Palace shifted the moment the first notes of “Technologic” hit the speakers. The setlist functioned as a masterclass in dance music history. Fans witnessed heavy-hitting renditions of:

  • “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”

  • “Around The World”

  • “One More Time” (played twice to satisfy the rapturous crowd)

  • The Weeknd collaboration “Starboy”

The highlight for many was the technical wizardry of the mashups. Bangalter seamlessly blended the jagged synths of “Aerodynamic” and “Rollin’ & Scratchin'” with Fred’s own “Victory Lap.” The duo even threw in a curveball by working in Usher’s “Yeah!”, proving their ability to keep the dancefloor unpredictable.

A Residency Defined by Community

While Bangalter’s presence stole the headlines, the entire Alexandra Palace residency served as a celebration of the current music scene. Throughout the week, Fred again.. welcomed an elite roster of talent including Jamie T, Kano, Ezra Collective, Mike Skinner, and Underworld.

As Fred again.. heads to the BRIT Awards in Manchester this Saturday, he does so with the momentum of a tour that bridged the gap between underground club culture and stadium-level spectacle. For those in attendance on Friday night, it wasn’t just a concert—it was a piece of electronic music history.
